Bag 'n Season Octoberfest Stew

POINTS: 4
MAKES: 10 servings
CRISPY RATING: You do get some of the beer flavor, and it's nice and tender

Ingredients
  • 2 packages McCormick Bag 'n Season Pot Roast Mix
  • 2 pounds beef, trimmed, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 2 cups potatoes, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1 pound baby carrots
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup beer (or beef broth)
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Arrange opened Roasting Bag in 13x9-inch baking pan. Place meat and vegetables in bag.

2. Combine brown sugar, seasoning blends, pepper and, if desired, nutmeg. Sprinkle over meat. Pour beer over meat and vegetables.

3. Close bag loosely with nylon tie. Cut 4 small holes in top of bag to allow steam to escape. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Let stand 5 minutes. Thicken sauce if desired.

MY NOTES AND THOUGHTS:

Easy and yummy. I love the flavor of the carrots out of this.
